The head office is in Toronto, Canada. The staff of specialists and managers are complemented by associated consulting firms, individual professionals and specialists. We provide complete engineering and design services on projects such as new and existing commercial, industrial, institutional and large residential buildings.
Our structural design division has extensive experience in the repair and rehabilitation of masonry and reinforced concrete structures. We have designed numerous buildings and structures consisting of structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and natural and engineered timber.
Our building science division resolves difficult maintenance problems affecting roofs, exterior masonry, windows, parking garages, retaining walls, asphalt and concrete parking areas, equipment supports, etc. We use thermographic scanning to help determine heat loss problems, water leaks and electrical overloads and incorrect phasing. For roof membrane review and reporting, our consultants determine the underlying causes and solutions.
Our firm works with owners, property managers, condominium corporations, manufacturers, banks, trust companies, insurance companies, schools and other institutions, corporations and individuals to assess conditions and reduce risks. If requested, we can provide detailed capital cost analyses from five to thirty years, including cash flow charts.
On international projects we use local consultants in combination with our own team of experts. Our joint venture viability studies include preparation of business plans, training plan, environmental assessment and preparation of environmental impact studies, social/gender impact, joint venture proposals, market analyses, joint venture agreements, assessment of ‘local’ partners, site evaluations, financial analyses.
Modern tools such as computer automated design and sending technical correspondence and information, including drawings, by internet are used extensively within the company.
Our design division uses their magic to transform bland offices into new ergonomically designed work spaces. We have researched architecture and interior design to produce for example – 1920’s art nouveau/art deco in a private school pool/exercise area. We can replicate conceptual renderings in 3-dimensions on the computer to produce virtual space tours of the proposed project.
With respect to legal experience we have been designated as expert witnesses on numerous cases in Ontario Provincial Court, the New Home Warranty Program and the Ontario Municipal Board. We have appeared for our clients in front of various Municipal Committees of Adjustment with respect to obtaining zoning variances. We have also helped prepare and evaluate numerous contracts for local and international clients.
